ECG-grained Cardiac Monitoring Using UWB Signals

With the development of wireless sensing, researchers have proposed many contactless vital sign monitoring systems, which can be used to monitor respiration rates, heart cardiac cycles and etc. However, these signs are ones coarse granularity, so they less helpful in diagnosis cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Considering that electrocardiogram (ECG) is an important evidence base for diagnoses CVDs, we propose generate ECGs from ultra-wideband (UWB) signals a manner as fine-grained solution. Specifically, analyze properties UWB containing heartbeats respiration, design two complementary heartbeat signal restoration methods perfectly recover variation. To establish mapping between mechanical activity sensed by devices electrical recorded ECGs, construct conditional generative adversarial network encode contrastive learning strategy reduce interference noise signals. We build corresponding system named RF-ECG conduct extensive experiments using about 120,000 more than 40 participants. The experimental results show generated good performance both ECG intervals morphology compared with ground truth. Moreover, such tachycardia/bradycardia, sinus arrhythmia, premature contractions diagnosed our RF-ECG.
